1900 - 1920 In 1903 he took part in the "Torneo
dialettale italiano" in Milan. In the following years, he completed
several tours with other dialectal poets all around Italy. He began
to savor his first true success and it was in this period that he met
his great love, a girl from Trastevere. He launched her career as a
movie star under the name of Leda Gys.
1921 - 1932 It
is in 1922 that Mondadori began to publish Trilussa's collections -
Lupi e agnelli, Le favole, Nove poesie, Le cose, I sonetti, Le storie,
Ommini e bestie. Trilussa is not the usual intellectual who loves the
fame of the roman society. His look is that of the typical provincial.
In 1927 when Fascism was ascending, Favole fasciste was published once
again. Trilussa on the other hand refused to buy a party card. In 1932
Mondadori published Giove e le bestie, Cento favole, Libro muto and
Cento apologhi.
