1936 - 1950 In 1937 Mondadori published Duecento sonetti and later Lo specchio e altre poesie, La Sincerità e le altre fiabe nove e antiche. In 1944 his last collection was published - Acqua e vino. Trilussa was never rich. His health deteriorated, and he died twenty days after Luigi Einaudi conferred the honorary senatorship on him for "highest merits in the literary and artistic field". He greatly anticipated the printing of his poetry in a single collection. Sadly, this only happened after his death in 1951.
